Bill Conner Associates LLC Consults on Houston Worship Projects
Bill Conner Associates LLC (BCA) has recently provided design services for two worship facilities, Houston’s First Baptist Church and Jersey Village Baptist Church. Both projects were in collaboration with Pete Ed Garrett AIA and Jared Wood AIA of Studio Red Architects, Houston, Texas.The $12 million Houston’s First Baptist Church renovation encompassed seating replacement, a new platform, an updated choir configuration and a new catwalk system over the house with related ceiling design and a circular walking truss. Bill Conner Associates LLC designed the dimming and control systems, curved curtain tracks upstage and motorized doors revealing the updated baptistery.The Jersey Village Baptist Church project included a new 1,500 seat sanctuary with infrastructure for future expansion, music suite, adult classrooms, a 125-person choir loft and space for a 20-person orchestra. Working on an exacting time schedule, BCA designed a complete production lighting system including automated lighting plus initial production lighting design. Lighting, dimming and control systems for both projects were manufactured by ETC and installed by Texas Scenic Company.
